Fresh, shucked NC oysters served in an arctic-cold bowl of ice and lemon wedges at the end of a 100+ degree day? More, please! Grilled fish w crispy skin sandwich was delish! Service was fast and friendly—even said my name right! If you can’t get to the beach, go grab some Locals. 🩵

Locals Seafood is the best place to get fresh NC seafood from NC. The fresh oysters can’t be beat. The fish sandwich is fresh and pan seared and served with a handmade sauce on a good bun. This is my go to place every week to get my seafood fix. The staff is always a pleasure and ensure the experience is a great one I can not give a higher recommendation for fresh seafood harvested right here in NC. 5 stars!

Best seafood in Durham, no contest. Locals sources everything from NC fishermen and it shows — the freshness is on another level compared to everywhere else. Get the whole fried fish special. You won’t regret it. This place is a gem and I’ll keep coming back every chance I get. Five stars all day. It’s at the Durham Food Hall, so you can sit at their counter, use the other seating in the hall or get take away.

This was my favorite. However, on my last visit, the serving size was substantially reduced. Compare my photos. They even skimped on the coleslaw!

A Hidden Gem Inside Durham Food Hall What a surprise! We came for the seafood and had no idea Locals Seafood was tucked inside a full-blown food hall. with so many other delicious distractions (crunch wraps, Boba, curry-spiced Indian wraps, chili chicken wontons… we got a little carried away). But trust us, Locals Seafood is a star not to be missed. The tuna melt was outstanding. They smoke it in-house, layering with banana peppers and pickled onions, and perfectly pressed. Add a side of waffle fries (my personal fave) and you’re golden. The fresh oysters were amazing too. Super briny and fresh (though here’s hoping oyster prices drop one day… we can dream). The coleslaw was crisp and lightly dressed, just right. Prices were fair, portions generous, and the team at Locals couldn’t have been friendlier - cheery, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they serve. Bonus: we wandered over to the Saturday farmers market just a block away for lemonade, live music, and more good vibes. An unexpectedly perfect weekend food adventure. Don’t skip it
